About

I am an international macroeconomist interested in the geography of trade and financial flows.  My research focuses on trade frictions, market access, and currency areas.  I often study the historical determinants of recent economic developments.

I am currently a research fellow at University College London and work at the Department for Business and Trade as Chief Economic Advisor for the Office for Investment.

I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Bristol, an MA from New York University, and a BA in Political Science and Economics from the University of British Columbia. I also hold a certificate in Quantitative Finance from Columbia University.
